Mexico – La Manzanillera: My personal beach paradise

Earlier in the year I spent a month in Mexico, and loved it! One of my favorite spots on the whole trip was La Manzanillera on the Michoacan coast, a tiny beach in an area surrounded by some great surf spots. We stayed at a small camping site where we enjoyed fresh quesedillas before or after letting the sun shine on our bellies as we lounged around in hammocks. In this small village, consisting of about ten houses, you can buy tacos, check your email or work on your Spanish. Not a whole lot you think? Then try visiting the neighboring beaches to show off your surf skills. If you don’t like surfing (or haven’t had a chance to learn it) you can always keep busy rating hotties on surfboards and then use your lack of skills to ask one of the 8 to 10’s for surf lessons).

3 things to do in La Manzanillera:

1. Enjoy the beautiful beach

2. Sunbathing, surfing and eating tacos (guess which of the 2 below did which)

3. And last, but not least: getting wasted on rum relaxing

Viva la Mexico, and make sure you say hi to the surfer boys when passing through La Manzanillera!
